EMIM

A multifunctional ecosystem for integrating medical services of the “self-management disease” type (EMIM).

Specific objectives of the project

  1. Development of a patient application (AP) that implements “self-management disease” (SMD) services tailored for people with diabetes. These services collect data entered by the other actors in the system, integrate the patient’s feedback, and implement prediction and decision algorithms that help the patient manage the condition. The application supports an online doctor-patient dialogue and removes the need for redundant visits to the doctor’s office. Through integration with the other applications in the ecosystem, the patient can see at any time where to find the medicines for a given prescription, and their prices.

  2. Development of an application for doctors (AM) that makes it possible to consult the statistical opinion of other doctors or pharmacists (without revealing identity) for conditions or criteria used when prescribing a treatment. The system uses the knowledge, opinion, and diagnosis of doctors and pharmacists at a macro level, removing or replacing isolated medical or pharmacological errors. AM includes “paperless hospital” services, which reduce the bureaucracy between doctors’ offices, and “data mining” services, which produce complex reports on broader public-health situations. The platform also includes functions for independent providers of medical services (injections, treatments, elderly care, and others): visit scheduling, provider search, and provider accreditation.

  3. Development of an application for pharmacists (AF), through which they have access to an online database of parapharmaceuticals, OTC products, and medicines, maintained and updated continuously. Pharmacies are connected to the multifunctional ecosystem, so a pharmacist can consult the solutions and treatments given by doctors for a condition and can review feedback from the other actors about a treatment or a medicine. ERP-type services are included to help pharmacists manage relationships with the other actors in the health system.

The online platform is a multifunctional ecosystem for integrating medical services of the “self-management disease” type.
